Ingredients and Method

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of lentils
  • 1 onion
  • ¼ cup of oil
  • 2 civil stock cubes
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley - to taste (to serve)

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a pot on the stove
  2. Add the onion and stir-fry until it wilts, that is, until it turns brown
  3. Add the lentils and stir for a few minutes with the lentils
  4. Then add the vegetable broth with 6 cups of water
  5. Cover the pot and leave the soup on medium heat for an hour, until the lentils soften
  6. Then season with cumin, turmeric, salt and lemon juice
  7. Put the soup in an electric blender until smooth
  8. Serve soup with chopped parsley
